In particular, he is interested in developing new probabilistic models and machine learning techniques for large-scale data analysis, as well as their applications in image and text understanding. He has also worked on a variety of topics in computer vision and pattern recognition before joining CUHK. \u200b<\/p><p>Professor Lin published over 120 papers on top conferences and journals, e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, and T-PAMI. His work on a new construction of Bayesian nonparametric models won the best student paper award in NIPS, the most prestigious conference on machine learning, in year 2010.
